A CRAFTERS POEM.........................
Crafters are a funny bunch,
We'd rather craft than eat our lunch.
The housework, it can always wait.
It will be there on some other date.
No craft is left to be untried,
No creative thought to be denied.
Craft supplies - they're everywhere!
We're never caught without a spare.
Can our time be better spent,
Than practicing our creative bent?
Let it be said when we are done,
We worked, we laughed, we had lots of fun.

Childhood Fun
I found this on another blog so thought I would share it with you all, it is all so true and just makes us appreciate what childhood fun we had in our time, it has all changed so so much, we were so lucky really.
According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 70's probably
shouldn't have survived, because our baby cots were covered with brightly coloured lead-based
paint which was promptly chewed and licked. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles,
or latches on doors or cupboards and it was fine to play with pans.
When we rode our bikes, we wore no helmets, just flip-flops.
We would ride in cars with no seat belts or airbags - riding in the passenger seat was a treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle and it tasted the same.
We ate chips, bread & butter pudding and drank fizzy pop with sugar in it,
but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing.
We shared one drink with four friends from one bottle or can and no-one actually died from this!
After running into stinging nettles a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We would leave home in the morning and could play all day, as long as we were back before it got dark. No one was able to reach us and no one minded.
We did not have video games. No 99 channels on TV, no videotape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones,
no personal computers, no DVDs, no Internet.
We had real friends - we went outside and found them. We played elastics and rounders.
We fell out of trees, got cut, and broke bones but there were no law-suits.
We had fights but no prosecution followed from other parents.
We played knock-the-door-run-away and were actually afraid of the owners catching us.
We walked to friends' homes. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls.
Our youth club was in a derelict house and actually had rats!
The sweets in the tuck shop were often chewed.
We played for hours in the local woods, which is now an housing estate.
The chippy was opposite the park so we would eat bags of chips with scraps while sitting on the swings.
We lived a mile from the nearest village & had to find our own amusement, which we did easily because we had imagination!
This is something the youth of today sadly lack.....

Lighting Candles
I am very cut up about the sad sad story of poor Jade Goody and do understand that many many other young people are probably going through this awful disease which we dont know about. Jade seems to be in my mind morning, noon and night I dont know if anyone else feels the same at the moment. I have just lit a candle at www.gratefulness.org for Jade and had a good few moments of reflection on this life we live in.
I am now off to see my dad for a few hours, he is 72 this year and I am so,lucky to have him, my mum and my stepdad maybe I need to realise this more eh?
I have been thinking about going to church, I mentioned it to my hubby and my mum last year when things were really bad on the work front etc and they just seem to laugh - me going to church!!!!!
I was christened in Church of Scotland as a baby and I feel if I go now maybe I can learn a lot about this life and it may make me understand things better and make me a different person. Maybe I should go and sit in sometime soon and see how I feel.

Some Good News Yipee!!
As many of my blogging friends may know when I was made redundant due to the credit drunch last July it had a really bad effect on me things havent been that good since and my health has also suffered quite a lot. I have just been floating between being unemployed and temporary jobs that are not what I am used to and very depressing and soul destroying to be honest. However guess what folks I have just been told this morning I have been successful after interview last week and have a job in a town local to me as a Mortgage Packager, I am over the moon, back to a 9am-5pm job in an office. I have been tucked away in the call centre environment which has been hard to deal with lately but needs were a must!
So I start my new job on Wednesday cant wait something to get my teeth into again and enjoy.
I am so so happy today.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone
Hope everyone has a great day.
I havent posted much this week as been busy working and been inundated with card orders for Valentine's Day from my work colleagues. I have made 21 cards for orders! I just said to my hubby this morning, its great to think that 21 people are opening up personalised cards this morning that I have made! I hope they all like them.
We are off out soon to Dobbies for breakfast them out for meal and drinks tonight with our friends, so looking forward to the day ahead.
I am so so saddened to read the news about Jade Goody on the front of the paper today that she only has months or weeks to live and they cannot do anything for her, this has effected me this morning and I feel so sorry for her, her family and her beloved sons. Life is so unfair. I am really going to enjoy my day today hey who knows thats ahead of us.
I am off to light a wee candle for Jade to do my little bit.
Catch you all soon.
